As you've seen from my last post, I've been getting into style subscription boxes lately - think boxes like Stitch Fix and its competitors like Trunk Club, Wantable, and now: Trendsend by Evereve. Here are my thoughts on what I received and the experience.
Average Cost per Item: Trendsend is more expensive by average cost per item than my Stitch Fix, Trunk Club, or Wantable boxes were, with most items valued at $75 or higher. They have a $1 styling fee for your first box, so that's pretty good. Unlike Stitch Fix or Trunk Club there are no big referral credits to stack up, though. You can get 20% off your first box with a referral link and 20% off future boxes by referring to others, but I kind of prefer Stitch Fix and Trunk Club for a fixed dollar credit. The items are also on the pricier side. If you keep 4 or more, you get 10% off.
Shipping: My Trendsend box came really fast, inside of one week.
Item Selection: A key note I read was to make a "wishlist" on Evereve. I did that and about half the items I received were on my wishlist, so it really does help. That said, Evereve doesn't have a huge inventory, though it does have a *good* inventory. Blow by blow of my items to follow at the bottom of this post.
Stylist: I selected the Atlanta store and I selected a summer "tropical" box. I don't really care if they are in Atlanta but I figured they'd understand the weather here best. Instead my box shipped from Minnesota and contained mostly winter/spring apparel. Fortunately I ended up liking a lot of it, but this was kind of weird to me. What I DID love is that they create 3 complete outfits for you and they were all nicely thought out.
What I got/kept:
- Outfit 1:
- Michael Stars Scoopneck Jumpsuit - KEEP - This was on my wishlist and I love it! It's my holy grail jumpsuit. I'm not a jumpsuit person because I'm only 5'0 but this looked cropped and it works perfectly on me. So soft, lazy, and somehow still chic.
- Sundry Neon Basic Hoodie - RETURN - Also a wishlist item. I wanted to keep this solely due to the color. But it had no pockets, was kind of stiff, and just not super flattering. Pretty costly too.
- Outfit 2:
- Kut from the Kloth Reese jeans - RETURN - Eh. These were OK. Not as stretchy as I like from denim, which I largely consider to be pants prison.
- Sanctuary Cardigan - KEEP - This was on my wishlist and I love it. It's not as soft as I hope, but it's perfect for spring.
- Z Supply Top - KEEP - This was another "eh." I kept it because it was the same price to keep it or return it because it was my 4th item, but it's not something I would go out of my way for.
- Outfit 3:
- Monrow Tie Dye Hoodie - KEEP - When I saw this in the preview I was like 'argg' because I asked for summer clothes, but it's one of the comfiest hoodies I've ever tried. With the 10% + sale price it was a good get but I can't imagine paying full retail for this.
- Monrow Tie Dye Jogger - RETURN - For over $100 these joggers had to be life changing and they weren't. Cute. If they were ~$50 I'd have kept them.
